As you can see, a very diverse set of opportunities exist for individuals that desire to help others live a more vibrant, healthy life.

People wishing to work in the health industry can also enjoy a flexible schedule. Many hospitals and nursing homes need staff on hand 24 hours a day. A lot of people also work part time hours. So if you are willing to be flexible in your schedule and the number of hours you work a week, you can benefit from working in this growing field.

People with the appropriate training for a career in the health care industry can make a decent living in this field.
Wage and salary employment in the health care industry is projected to increase 22 percent through 2018, compared with 11 percent for all industries combined. Employment growth is expected to account for about 22 percent of all wage and salary jobs added to the economy over the 2008-18 period. Projected rates of employment growth for the various segments of the industry range from 10 percent in hospitals, the largest and slowest growing industry segment, to 46 percent in the much smaller home health care services.


It is true that some industries have died out or are dying out. The health industry is not that industry. There are plenty of opportunities for career growth if you decide to start a career in the health industry. As with anything, the amount of success you achieve depends on the amount of work you are willing to put into it.
